NHTSA TV Ad and Digital Video Use Requirement

NHTSA produces a variety of videos for use on TV and digital, and many of these videos are available for states to use. Also, states can request that we add their logo to an ad by retagging the ending of the video.

Below is a list of videos available for retag. While multiple lengths may be listed, NHTSA typically only retags 30-second videos.

Please submit your request with sufficient time to meet media traffic submission deadlines. It may take up to 3 weeks to deliver retagged spots.

Note: No one, including states, may alter, edit, or change a NHTSA TV ad or digital video.

New Requests

Review the videos below. Click “preview” to watch a video.
Select the videos you want to be retagged by checking “retag” under the video. You can choose up to seven ads at once.
When done, click “Request Selected” in the bottom right corner and you’ll be prompted to fill out additional information. When doing so:

Provide the state ID to appear at the end. (Example: "Paid for by the [State] Governor's Office of Highway Safety.")
- If you are including Spanish language spots in your request, please also include a Spanish language state ID if you would like it to appear in Spanish. (Example: “Pagado por la Oficina de Seguridad Vial del Gobierno de [Estado].")
Attach the state logo in Adobe (*.TIF or .EPS) format in your email request. Please include a full-color, black and white, and a reversed-out (white on transparent) logo, if available.
Select the video formats [16x9, 1x1, 4x5, 9x16] you’d like to receive.

Previous Requests

If you have previously received retagged videos and wish to duplicate them, send an email to Feedback-TSM@dot.gov for approval. Please include the reason for this request.
